Some Food, Some Alcohol, and Some Jam

Last weekend Jam celebrated her birthday by treating us out to dinner at Borough and a gig at Route 196. I was really excited because I had never eaten at Borough, and I LOVE going to gigs, and of course because I was going to see some of my favorite people!

There are some people (loljk, just two) who, when I see, make me very happy no matter how long or short it has been since I last saw them. One of them is Janelle.

I've been spending a lot of time with Terry this past month, come to think of it. So much that I have just been gaining weight and inside jokes.

Leftovers photography 2012. EVERYTHING I ATE AT BOROUGH WAS DELICIOOOOUUUS!!! As in everything. Like all the hype was legit and I wanna go baaaack for the yummy noms.

And then we stepped outside for some pictures and then this happened.

I don't understand but that comes with PGPS territory.

Jam and her younger brother J-- ... I will naively assume his name is Joseph.

Jam was really happy that her brother consented to some pictures because he seems to hate being photographed. Perhaps this was his own personal birthday gift to his ~*~ate~*~? WHO KNOWS LOL

Proof: he was shaking his head "no" when I tried taking a picture with his mom. Oh well.

This was the most decent shot we got of the whole family, except Joseph (I sincerely hope this is his name) got cut out. GOOD GOING TERRY (she took this picture)

Maronne, being the vain betch she always is. You know what else she is? Oh, just an ANIMAX ANI-MATE FINALIST I MEAN CAN I JUST OHMYGOD?!?!?!?!? You can't imagine how proud I am of her. GO SHOW YOUR SUPPORT BY LIKING HER COSPLAY PAGE AND GOING TO THE ANIMAX PH PAGE AND VOTING FOR HER IN THE POLL OKAAAAY!!!

Really Animax. You'd be doing the anime community good by just picking Maronne already. I mean KAMON I MEAN I MEAN I MEAN

Because Alex's face always needs a solo shot.

Pangetface and Jam's youngest budda, John Paul. (Now this name, I'm sure of.)

The CSB kids were the first to leave, so Jam wanted a picture with them before they went home. Also, that is John Paul pulling a Gangnam Style.

Then we went to Route 196 for a gig and saw our friend Forrest perform! It was refreshing to attend a gig where I wasn't required to document at all (like I have in the past few months, but more on that in a separate post one day) and could just bask in the feeling of being in that kind of crowd again. Not that I enjoyed myself at all during those gig assignments I had (because I did, like, IMMENSELY); it's just that this time I had no pressure of documenting all the bands and meeting a picture quota. It was great.

And here is a picture of slightly buzzed!Ina. Outfit deets are here and a related post is here. It was so rad that I got to attend a gig with friends again without any work obligations. That also meant... I could drink as much as I wanted, BUT LOL SOMETHING HAPPENED ON THE WAY HOME HAHAHA. Maybe I had one Red Horse too many, but I leaned back in my car seat (something I know I shouldn't do, but my intoxicated mind probably threw that thought out the window), ended up dizzy, and puked. Inside Jam's car. Basically:

Jam: Ina, are you okay?
Ina: *hunched over* I'm puking.

(About a minute later...)

Terry: Ina, are you okay?
Ina: *spits into puddle of vomit* Yes.

HAHAHAHAHA I KNOW RIGHT. So ~*~classy~*~ HAHAHA I'M STILL SO SORRY JAAAAM! That was the first and only time I have ever puked inside a car. Save for maybe those possible times when I was a baby. But you get it. I promise to keep in mind not to lean back/lie down when I've had a sufficient amount of alcohol in my body that can get me buzzed.

I might vow never to drink Red Horse ever again though. That night marked my third Red Horse night ever, the first resulted in SLUSHNMUSH: The Sequel. The second wasn't bad, but it gave me a really bad headache (which is expected since Red Horse is notorious for its strong hit -- IT'S CALLED RED HORSE FOR A REASON). The morning after Jam's celebration, my hands and legs were trembling/numbing, which is a normal body effect I have after a night of exhaustion (especially when mixed with lots of alcohol), but... I don't wanna risk it.

Psh I say that now but for all I know I might end up with another bottle of Red Horse anyway. Maybe I  should make a Tomador Tales tag since that's what my mom calls me anyway HAHA.

Jam's ex-bandmate, Cash. I really wanted to go to his band's EP launch (especially since I'm friends with his bandmate Pat) but that was the night before my Math finals.

And here is a picture of us mocking Pat's square head (SO HAPPY I GOT TO SEE HIM THOUGH 'CAUSE PRIOR TO THIS NIGHT THE LAST TIME WE SAW EACH OTHER WAS LIKE MORE THAN A YEAR AGO OR SMTHN) with our new friends EJ and... I think his name was Ben? Omg tell me I'm not wrong.

THANKS SO MUCH AGAIN FOR THE MAGICAL NIGHT JAM! Perpetual apologies for the barf I left in your car. I promise to vomit out the window next time.

Awkward Smiling 2012

So uh. I did my own ~*~hair and makeup~*~ for my ~*~graduation picture~*~

Ha. Hahahahaha. The photos in this blog post were taken after the commute home plus a really sweaty visit to the thrift shop though, so part of my face had already melted away by the time I photographed myself. I mean you can totes tell, right?

This was the first time I had ever done makeup for something so ~*~important~*~ Everybody knows I'm like a really huge makeup junkie but for really, REALLY special occasions (not that I have many of those very often anyway) I usually turn to my mom to do my face and stuff. But she wasn't around for my grad pic, so I had to do it myself. I'd like to think I did an at least passable job, but please don't judge based on these pictures since I DID sweat off a lot of my makeup by the time I got around to taking these so...

I didn't want to do anything unnatural so I stuck with browns and peach tones. I mean, it's a grad picture. You want to look like yourself innit, right? So I stayed away from anything heavy.

Basically I placed a peach/kinda orange?/maybe-but-not-really-skin tone eyeshadow, then placed a brown at the outer corners and blended the hell outta that. I think I used a light foundation powder for my brow bone. Then juuuust a little bit a shimmery color in the inner corners. I also used a brown eyeliner with some of that same brown eyeshadow for my lashline, then just a light coating of mascara. And just the same brow routine. There's more that I did but wtvr it's not like I'm making a tutorial here or anything.

As for the lips I went with some sort of lightish pinkish color? Sort of a 'my lips but better', except just a tiny bit pinker.

I also had to blow dry my hair. Omg. I never blow dry my hair anymore because it's usually always up or in buns and when it's down, it's usually curly from being in a bun. LOOK AT HOW LONG MY HAIR IS NOW COMPARED TO MY SHORT HAIR IN THE SUMMER! I'm beginning to dislike my unstyled hair though. It looks so plain and boring, especially for someone like me who has lived with layered hair for years and years and years. I mean admittedly it looks nice and neat when it's blow dryed, but I find it so boring!

Anyway, this my current hair color. For reference, I talked about my recent hair coloring in this post. I don't even know how to describe this color; in real life my roots really are insanely light (like, a light brown), and most of my hair looks kinda maroonish/rust-like/some sort of brown when under the sun. I don't even know anymore.

When I saw my grad pic though... man. I don't even know how to smile unless it's a genuine smile when I'm happy and stuff. And the angles they made us pose in! So unflattering! Doing my own makeup was awkward enough (I didn't have time to practice or anything so I was all LOL SCREW IT on the spot), BUT MAAAAN I hate doing formal pictures and stuff. Awk awk awk.

The Actual Crown(ing Glory)

I would just like to share that I dyed my hair while I was in Hong Kong. I figured, hey, my roots are growing out, I'll be having my graduation picture (!) taken once I go home, and I may as well try those Japanese hair dye brands that I can't find in the Philippines, let's do it! I wanted something nice just in time for my grad pic.

For reference, here is a picture of my hair color just before dyeing. I didn't realize how saturated my hair was under the light until this picture happened.

This was the dye I got. I was 100% sure that my hair wasn't gonna turn into the color of that doll on the box, but I had hopes that it'd do SOMETHING with my hair color and make it nice and ashy or wtvr.

Sadly, the effect backfired.

If anything, all the dye did was get rid of all the red I had and made my hair a very natural, albeit average and boring, color. It was almost black (in fact it looks pretty black in these pictures). Not that I don't like black -- I dyed my hair a jet black last year and loved it -- I just don't want it with my current hair length. I'm game for black hair, so long as my hair length is either really long or really short. My current hair length is neither; it's in between.

You can see here though that it was at least brown under the light, with my roots being the lightest for some reason.

After a few washes it turned into this color: less black, more brown.

About another week later I decided to dye my hair again in hopes of getting it back somewhere, and I used this brand called "Palty". I didn't take a picture of the box or of my hair color now, but for reference here's the actual image used on the box:

It was another ash color, but this one seemed like it had a twinge of something akin to lavender. On the box at least. All this dye did was make my hair slightly lighter, browner. AND IT MADE MY ALREADY LIGHT ROOTS A LOT LIGHTER TOO LOL. Too lazy to take a photo, but wtvr. I still have a box or two of my reddish hair dye so I can always turn to that if I can't deal with my current color. This wasn't what I was going for though, for my grad pic...

Also, check out my hair length! As of this post (but not the picture above), it's been more than half a year since I cut my hair short. My hair is in a very weird place right now, both in length and color. I can't stand my regular, air-dried and unstyled hair at its current length. I often find myself tying it back into a bun when I'm in school, or letting it get a bit dirty and messing the curls up after a bun. I'VE ALWAYS HATED FLYAWAYS WITH A BURNING PASSION, TOO.

I'm planning a major haircut come summer time and a hair color idea in December. Fingers crossed that they pull through and turn out well!

Crown On the Ground

When I first got this hat I could not keep my eyes off of it. I still kinda can't. It is a beauty.
