Merrier than a terrier

Sharing some random stuff I got-slash-dug up recently.

Last weekend my mom and sisters went to a wedding expo (one of my sister's getting Church!married this year after a couple of years of being civilly married) but I couldn't tag along (which has been happening all the time now since the year started /bitter) because of school things. My mom got me some make-up from the expo though! Ah, sweet, magical make-up. /I am such a girl /This is why there's a 'make-up' tag /Shuddup Thanks Mama!

While they were out I also asked them to get me My Chemical Romance's Danger Days album. I don't know why I didn't get it when it first came out -- maybe I just wasn't in the mood at the time? I do remember when some songs from this album came out I was all, "Hmm, I think I'm gonna like this album." 'cause I didn't really share the same sentiments for their previous album.

On that note, I also dug up my other MCR albums. Three Cheers was my first and ultimately favorite album (didn't get the first one mostly because I didn't really know the band until Helena -- which, by the way, was my first and favorite MCR song everrrr). The cd jacket's missing, which totally sucks and bothers me since this is my favorite MCR album but oh well.

Hello, old and ghey!diary. The very little entries I had on there date back to early 2006, which was a pretty dark time in my life. Also, this was high school, so there was a lot of swearing. I very spontaneously ripped out the pages and started shredding them, but then that became too much of a chore so I burned them in my trash can. I nearly burned my finger too. Go me. Now the diary's empty for a new start -- and yes, I DO want to write in it, even if I have a blog. I don't know what I should write in it though; I'm scared to write down personal stuff 'cause I had a very bad experience with one diary as a kid /scarred for life What I do know is that I wanna make this an almost-daily thing and I wanna fill out all the pages for once! Any suggestions?

I have a thing for children's book illustration, I really do. I got this at Books For Less and you can even see a little message on one of the pages, which sort of made me go, "Ngaaaawww." Mhm.

Collab: Lady Rainicorn Make-up Look

About a week ago my friend Camille and I wanted to do a collaboration. Normally an art collab would suffice, but I didn't really wanna tarnish anything Camille made with what I could do (and I've been on a kind of hiatus from personal drawings because of school), I suggested we do a character-inspired look/make-up collaboration instead!

As for the theme, we went from Disney to Gorillaz to Hansel and Gretel until we finally settled on Adventure Time! I'll keep mum about which character Camille will be doing (I'll be sure to post a link once her look's up!), but I chose Lady Rainicorn! Mostly because I didn't wanna use a character that only showed up in just one episode, and becaaauuuse I'm always up for anything colorful!

So, taking cues from Lady, here's my look:

Ta-daaaa! So there's light pink on the lids for Lady's body, yellow on the crease and a paler yellow on the brow bone as her hair, and rainbow on the lower lashline as... the rest of her body. Some very subtle shimmer on the inner corner and white eyeliner on the lower waterline for her horn, and a thin line of black liquid eyeliner for the black eyes she's got! Oh and a light pink shimmering blush plus pale pink on the lips, too.

I didn't really wanna blend the pink and yellow much because I wanted a sort of crease-cut look. Blink.

Crazy ~*~wind effect~*~ to mimic the way Lady's hair waves about. HOHOHO!

This was so much fun to do so I hope I did the look justice! If not... then... well. K... HAHA! I can't wait to see Camille's part of the collab and I totally hope we'll have more in the future, make-up or otherwise.

Here is a picture of my unicorn horn showing LOL. This was my first ever make-up collaboration with anybody and I hope it won't be the last!

What's the worst that I could say

Some photos I never posted. Mostly from that time my friends and I went to watch The Adventures of Tintin.

This is the real Tintin in my life. 1/3 of Revolution Nine. (I don't even know where to link you for R9. Uh.)

Fact: Billie is perfectly content with eating just rice with toyo. Granted, this photo has siomai innit,  but that's not the point.

Beau is a real-life troll face. I'm not even joking, nor am I exaggerating. (Not that the photo shows said face. I just thought it'd be worth mentioning.)

This is my Korean friend Na Ha Na, more commonly known as Janelle.

These three are also known as the Trifecta. Because of reasons.

This is an amusing picture. That is all.

Live Auditions + Big Fish + first post

Hello! This is my friend Billie and I at a public restroom, taken some weeks ago when we attended an anime convention. I don't even remember what it was called 'cause it was kinda... eh? Oh well.

That same day, we watched our friend Jam perform in the production called Live Auditions (or Life, wtvr.) It was the first time we ever got to see her star in a production, so this was a pretty big deal.

It was sort of refreshing to witness a musical that was set in auditioning. Because the setting was during a typical production's auditions, there was a sort of laid back and casual feeling to it all. It also made me wonder if actual auditions were as depicted in Live Auditions, as I've never really auditioned for a part in a play ever. Are the directors really that scary? What does it feel like to fight for the part you really want? Gah!

I HOPE YOU DIE AAAAHAHAHA that was fun.

Perhaps one of the most interesting aspects of Live Auditions was the whole concept of 'live auditions'. When we were getting our tickets, we were handed a number to wear and greeted with a 'Good luck on your audition!' which kind of made me go 'uhhh k' but shrugged it off. I got the last laugh watching Billie squirm and panic about the whole audition gimmick. "What song do I sing? I DON'T SING! GRAAARRGHGHJKGSDHG" I wasn't too worried 'cause I figured, hey, they wouldn't make us pay just to make us sing when we came to watch them perform, right?

And while I was right for the most part, they really did nick someone from the audience and made them sing! I saw this little boy having a chat with one of the production people though, so maybe the audience participation was semi-planned? Regardless, it made watching the production an experience. It was like you knew you were part of auditions, but at the same time you had to remind yourself that you were watching a production before anything else. That's probably what I loved the most about Live Auditions.

Loljk no. What I loved the most about Live Auditions was Jam, of course! Le duh.

Auditions completed! Too bad we didn't make it to callbacks though. </3 LOLOL

There were only three of us from our group who went to see Jam that day, only because everybody else had seen her the day before.

This is Maronne, also know as The Resident Upstager. She permanently wears a red wig.

I know this is a pretty late post, but congratulations again to the whole Live Auditions team! And to you especially, Jam. Yaaaay.

This picture shows just how much I love Jam HAHAHA so glamourous desu desu!11!1!

Billie, Jam and I suddenly found ourselves at Big Fish, since Jam had some complementary tickets or smthn thanks to Magic. I. Do not. Belong. In that scene. Like srsly, all did there was stand uncomfortably and be awkward. LIKE, LEGIT AWKWARD. I really don't enjoy any form of clubbing or partying of that kind, I guess. I'm too awkward for it and get too self-conscious to let loose like that.

Still, it was an experience, and I've got these two to thank for that. Jam especially, since we couldn't of gotten in without her. Thanks for the opportunity! NEVER AGAIN LOLJK

This is my first post on the blog! I originally hailed from my ol' LiveJournal, but I figured it was time to move. It was a bit of a dramufest, my blog switching. You can even read my tearful farewell to my LJ. Shed a few tears, if you will HAHA I kid. Hopefully I'll be keeping this Blogspot for just as long as I kept my LJ -- or longer, even!

Cheers to the new blog!
